Wood Fireplaces
High-efficiency wood fireplaces — the look of a real fire, with modern combustion behind it.
What makes a high-efficiency wood fireplace different?
Advanced combustion. Catalytic converters or secondary burn systems use more of the fuel, so more heat reaches the room and fewer emissions leave it. They also build less creosote, which means less cleaning, and burn less wood for the same warmth.

Wood Fireplaces questions
What is a high-efficiency wood fireplace?
One built with advanced combustion technology — usually a catalytic converter or a secondary burn system — so more of the fuel is actually used. The result is more heat in the room and fewer emissions up the chimney.
Does a high-efficiency fireplace need less cleaning?
It builds less creosote, which reduces cleaning and maintenance compared with a conventional open fireplace. It does not remove the need for a chimney clean, and creosote is what causes chimney fires.
Fireplace or insert?
A fireplace is built in as part of the room. An insert fits inside a masonry fireplace you already have. If there is an open fireplace in the house now, the insert pages are the ones to read.
