Why choose a pellet insert over a wood one?
No firewood to handle or store. A pellet insert fits just about any size fireplace and burns compressed pellets with automatic ignition and temperature control, pushing heat into the room rather than up the chimney. Emissions are low and the fuel is renewable.

Before you buy: three things we need
- Download and fill in the measurement guide
Open the guide, print it, and fill it in. It asks for the dimensions we need to tell you what will actually fit your opening.
- Take pictures
Photograph the inside and the outside of your fireplace, and the chimney from outside. Those images let us understand the setup and offer options that suit it.
- That is it
Bring the completed form to the showroom. Your salesperson will give you their email address so you can send the pictures across.

Pellet Inserts questions
Will a pellet insert fit my fireplace?
A pellet insert can fit into just about any size fireplace, which is the main practical advantage over some wood inserts. We still need the measurement guide and photographs before confirming it for your opening.
Where does the heat go?
Into the room. A pellet insert distributes heat into the space rather than letting it escape up the chimney, which is the whole point of putting one into an open fireplace.
Do I need to light it by hand?
No. Pellet inserts offer automatic ignition along with temperature control settings, so it starts and holds a temperature without being tended the way a wood fire is.
Where do I get the pellets?
From us. We stock super-premium hardwood pellets in 40 lb and 23.8 lb bags and deliver within about an hour of the Stone Ridge store. A pallet is roughly fifty 40 lb bags.
