Gas Inserts

Convert an existing wood fireplace to clean-burning gas, controlled from the couch.

What does a gas insert change about an existing fireplace?

It converts a wood fireplace into a clean-burning gas unit with instant warmth and adjustable settings. There is no wood to chop and no ash to dispose of, and with battery backup it still works in a power cut. It emits fewer pollutants than burning wood.

Convenience

One click with a remote, and the fire is lit.

Flame height, fan speed and accent lights all adjust.

Thermostat

A thermostat option, so the room holds the temperature you set.

Efficiency

Energy efficient, with minimal maintenance compared with burning wood.

Power backup

Battery backup, so it still lights during an outage.

Your choice of look

Traditional birch, oak or driftwood logs, or a modern bed of glass media and stones.

Before you buy: three things we need

  1. Download and fill in the measurement guide

Open the guide, print it, and fill it in. It asks for the dimensions we need to tell you what will actually fit your opening.

  2. Take pictures

Photograph the inside and the outside of your fireplace, and the chimney from outside. Those images let us understand the setup and offer options that suit it.

  3. That is it

Bring the completed form to the showroom. Your salesperson will give you their email address so you can send the pictures across.

Gas Inserts questions

Will a gas insert work in a power cut?

With battery backup, yes. That is one of the listed features, and it matters in a Hudson Valley winter — creating a fire with natural gas or propane stays easy and efficient even in an outage.

What maintenance does a gas insert need?

Minimal compared with a wood-burning alternative: no wood to chop and no ash to dispose of. We do offer gas cleanings, which freshen the glass and the embers and check the burner, on units we installed.

Can I choose how the fire looks?

Yes. Traditional birch, oak or driftwood logs for a classic look, or glass media and stones for a modern one. Flame height, fan speed and accent lights adjust as well.

Is a gas insert cleaner than burning wood?

It emits fewer pollutants than a wood-burning option and helps maintain indoor air quality. If emissions or air quality are what is driving the decision, that is the main argument for gas over wood here.
